Astrological Analysis - December 2011 & 2011 Recap

December 2011 & 2011 Recap
(see previous posts for details)

Whose Side Are You On?

Pluto in Capricorn continues its decade plus stress test of global institutions.  Uranus continues in Aries triggering reform campaigns and revolutions. Neptune is on its way into Pisces, firing up aspirations and undermining authority. And dissolving established thought patterns. And also causing psychological problems and raising spiritual issues. We are also starting to feel the force of the powerfully revolutionary 2012 chart.

Wave upon wave of intense astrological energies. Things, and people, are coming apart under the strain.

The current troublesome energetic wave comes from Neptune's move into Pisces. It is entering Pisces in February, its home sign, for a 13 year stay. It is also beginning a new ~165 year cycle of the Zodiac.

Neptune in Pisces will trigger a re-think of, well, virtually all the ideas we think we believe. Increasingly, it also looks like Neptune in Pisces will trigger a battle over systems as we seek to replace the ones we have.

A recap of 2011 is essentially a recap of Neptune's transition into Pisces.

Neptune has been paying a lot of attention to 8th house issues, too,
sowing confusion and uncertainty in 8th house matters. The 8th house governs collective wealth and large, long-term financial commitments and the immense power around all that money.

The Big Re-Think

As Neptune re-enters Pisces, it begins a new cycle of the Zodiac. One-hundred-and-fifty years years of established ideas are suddenly up for revision.

Neptune governs the ideas on which our lives are based. These ideas support contracts, agreements, constitutions, religions and beliefs, and so on. So Neptune is unraveling the agreements that hold our lives together. It's dissolving our concept of the the world and making us re-imagine the world.

Neptune in Pisces will also bring profound psychological and spiritual changes. It will continue to undermine our understanding of ourselves.  It will continue to release old, potentially disturbing stuff into consciousness.

In weakening the hold that existing ideas have over our minds and rummaging through our subconscious, Neptune has weakened the authority of ideas, and, thus, weakened authority generally. Disorder and unrest are spreading at a good pace.

Neptune's Progress
April 2011 – Head Butting on Slippery Ground

Neptune first entered Pisces early in April 2011.  It was powerfully placed in April's chart, exactly conjunct the mid-heaven.

There was a T-square in April's chart, too. It pitted demands for economic fairness against a stubborn unwillingness  to sacrifice for the common good.  Both came up against leaders looking for economic solutions. There was, and is, head butting all around.  I think Neptune in Pisces will bring a widespread increase in head butting, in both frequency and intensity.

Meanwhile, Neptune was making the ground soft and slippery beneath the feet of head butting combatants.

May 2011 - Economic Foundations Flooded

In May, Neptune in Pisces sat in the 8th house.

The 8th house governs many important economic things and processes.  Generally speaking, it governs that huge pot of collective wealth that sits at the heart of most modern societies.  And the power enjoyed by those who control that wealth.

Among the things the 8th house governs are social welfare funding, taxation, inheritance, insurance, home mortgage lending, and retirement savings.  And many more critically important things besides.

Neptune in Pisces in the 8th house renders all these important 8th house issues massively uncertain. And we have seen increasing uncertainty surrounding all major financial issues in our lives. More specifically, Neptune has been cutting big holes in the social safety-net and smudging lines in the social contract. You might recall Republican initiatives to privatize Medicare began peaking at about this time.

June/July - 3 Eclipses
Financial Turbulence Continues, Psychological
Troubles Increase

There were three eclipses from June 01 to July 01 2011. These eclipses landed on the financial axis of the chart. They revealed dangerous new cracks in global economic systems. The debt crises (more than one) in Europe became increasingly acute from about this time.

Meanwhile, Neptune was attacking our psychological and spiritual foundations. Neptune retrograding in Pisces was close to the very sensitive 4th house cusp.

This placement undermines the sources of order in our personalities. Personalities would begin to unravel. Communities and societies will begin to unravel (those that hadn’t already unraveled). While this kind of thing doesn’t make the headlines, increasing numbers of people in our lives are showing signs of psychological and spiritual crisis. Just ask around.

Combined, the 3 eclipses and Neptune’s assault on the vertical axis of the chart, the axis of authority, shook up our reality fairly seriously.

Neptune retrograding in Pisces sets the stage for the widening and deepening of psychological malaise and social unrest.

August & September 2011 - Neptune Undermines Authority

In August, Neptune is the top of the chart, again.  It opposes the Sun, Mercury and Venus at the bottom of the chart.  In other words, Neptune hits the vertical axis of the chart - again.

In September, Neptune hits the vertical axis yet again. This time as part of a so-called Yod. This Yod released deeply suppressed psychological issues.  It set complex psychological dramas in motion.  Squirrelly behavior is becoming increasingly common. Our dirty psychological laundry is on display.

The vertical axis of the chart is also the source of authority in a chart. Hence, Neptune undermined public authority figures and our personal control over our own personalities. Respect for authority is diminishing rapidly.  Also, people are experiencing more trouble holding it together spiritually and psychologically. Ask around.

October - The People Seek A Voice, Neptune Brings Even Greater Economic Uncertainty

Our confusion and discontent found a public voice in October. That was about when the now global Occupy Wall Street movement sprang into being, or at least moved into the public eye.

October's chart is dominated by a Yod-like structure.  It involved Mars, Pluto and Uranus.  I called this a hard Yod.  It motivates people to elbow their way into high-level discussions between those in authority. Which pretty much describes what The Occupy Wall Street movement did, er, does.

Meanwhile, Neptune was retrograding in Pisces over the cusp of the 8th house.  That continued to weaken our economic foundations.

You’ll recall the fight over raising government borrowing limits (the debt ceiling crisis) in the United States, which badly rattled already rattling world economies.

November - Financial and Moral Issues Forcefully Combine (& 11.11.11)

A strong but impaired wealth-building trine dominated November's chart. It has some of the characteristics of a solid wealth-building aspect, but it is impaired in a number of ways.

This trine, a patchwork of good and bad omens, gave off wildly conflicting, wildly contradictory economic signals.

And the global wealth-building engine did really show some signs of life but, for a variety of reasons nobody can seem to get their mind around, it just won't rev up.

Among other things, this wealth-building trine is intersected by a Mars/Neptune opposition.  Mars, holding down one point of the trine, opposes retrograde Neptune, by now all the way back in Aquarius.

Issues of economic fairness (Neptune issues) become important in the economic debate (8th house issues).  In fact, issues of economic fairness practically hijacked the economic debate.

Economic and moral issues intersect beautifully, and potentially explosively, in the 99% v. the 1% idea.

November - December 2011 - Riptides

As November opens, Jupiter, Chiron, Uranus and Neptune are all retrograde. Under current turbulent astrological conditions, retrogrades cause suspenseful and agonizing delays in painful and urgent situations.  And other unfortunate things.

Close to 11.11.11, Neptune and Chiron changed direction, beginning forward motion within a day or so of each other.  This vibe foretold an epidemic of health crises that have strong psychological and spiritual components.  Illness and injury (Chiron) will be accompanied by unusually high levels of psychological releases and spiritual realizations (Neptune, soon to be in Pisces).

By Christmas, all planets will have changed direction and be moving forward. Mercury will begin and end its retrograde in the same time period.  When planets change directions, they cause weirdly intense and unpredictable vibes. Having so many planets doing that in such a brief period of time under these conditions will cause a lot of, well, weirdly intense and unpredictable vibes.

But there's more. Between Thanksgiving Day and December 10th, two eclipses will occur. One takes place as Mercury turns retrograde.  Another occurs as Uranus turns direct. Close to that time, Mercury completes its retrograde and turns direct again.

This devil’s brew of strange vibes will produce potentially dangerous astrological cross-currents.  It will also throw out violently mixed signals about the path ahead.

These vibes can bring unusually complex disruptive events that are hard to understand and even harder to do anything about.  Personally, we're likely to find all this confusing and frustrating.

Jupiter will turn direct on December 25th.  We'll see a burst of rapid progress lasting until Mars retrogrades in late January.  Most likely, however, there will be more progress than we bargained for.  There usually is when all the planets are in direct motion.

It's useful to have a planet or two retrograde.  They act as a check on hasty (rash and arrogant) actions and their unintended consequences.

December - Neptune asks: Whose Side Are You on? Personality Strain

December's chart is all about picking sides.  Our personal and professional situations are changing very rapidly.  New possibilities are emerging.  However, it is clear we'll need to 're-position' ourselves socially to take advantage of these possibilities. Re-networking, “re-alliancing,” realignments will proceed at a dizzying pace.

This realignment will occur on the personal level, but, on a larger scale, it will also affect political loyalties and global alliances.

Virtually all relationship areas are affected (houses 4 thru 12).  Most of the pressure will come from our most important relationships (houses 6, 7 and 8)!

The self we present to the world (houses 1, 2, and 3), is affected as a result. Houses 1, 2, and 3 are empty. They lack planetary support.  Consequently, our self-image could easily 'distort' (implode?) from the impact of these changes in relationship areas. We could easily strain our personalities (even more) as we try to cope with it all.

Guidance Amidst the Chaos

Neptune conjunct Vesta saturates the chart with vibes from the midheaven.

Neptune represents ideals.  It also dissolves ties so we can pursue those ideals.  Vesta represents dedication and life focus.

Combined, Neptune and Vesta push us to reorganize our lives according to some higher life goal. This urge will pervade events in December.

Do’s and Don’ts

The Moon's nodes impose a kind of order on all this.  The north node tells us what the planets want us to do.  It is in the 6th house of work, well-being and interdependency.

It tells us to stay grounded.  Do the work of building new support networks.  Do stay connected to the process. Do stay with the facts at hand.  Stay in the moment. Check your parachute frequently.

Employed in the 6th house, Neptune/Vesta energy will help create alliances strong enough to weather the coming changes.

The south node in the 12th house says don’t retreat into spirituality.  We need to avoid religious dogma and set aside abstract metaphysical issues.

Neptune/Vesta energy deployed in the 12th house will bring divisiveness.  It will encourage suspicion, hostility and sectarian conflict.

The north and south nodes lie along the 12 house/6th house axis.  A lunar eclipse affects the exact same part of the chart.  That tells us that the choices we make in December - the goals we choose and the means we use to achieve them – will be fateful indeed.

Neptune/Vesta - The Bottom Line

On one level, the Neptune/Vista energy supports re-networking. On another level, though, it supports rapid political mobilization.  People are awakening politically. Neptune/Vesta is urging us to ally ourselves with like-minded people for essentially political reasons. That is definitely happening.

Midpoint Highlights.

Four midpoints stand out in the December composite chart.

The Sun at the midpoint of Pluto and the north node. Some will try to impose their will ruthlessly on others, and vice versa. Rampant power plays. Read the fine print.

Mercury at the midpoint of Mars and the midheaven.
This points to careful planning. With all the urgency and chaos, careful planning can only be a good thing.

Uranus at the midpoint of Jupiter and the midheaven. This points to well-founded hope that we can make the right move. There are opportunities out there and many of us will find ourselves in the right place at the right time.

Neptune at the midpoint of Venus and Uranus.  This points to unconventional sexual relations and strange flirtations, generally.  It also leaves us too open to suggestion.  Optimistically?  It brings a willingness to break personal boundaries to become more inclusive. Realistically?  Probably a few more major sex scandals or sordid details from those already in the news.

Sign by Sign Analysis for December 2011

Astrology Forecast for December 2011

FOR EVERYONE ~
Go with what's counterintuitive.  December's vibes are asking each and everyone of us to avoid doing what comes most naturally to us. They are urging us to break our habitual patterns and embrace the chaos that is surrounding us. When challenged like that, we usually try to stick with what we know. This time, staying with the comfortable and the familiar, doing what comes natural, will have exactly the wrong result.  It won't be easy to change because so many of us are feeling exposed and vulnerable. Also, many are tempted to force their will on others. It's not all bad. There are new opportunities opening up and luck will lend a helping hand. But to benefit, we're going to have to maybe suppress some of our own strongest impulses and try something different.

SIGN-BY-SIGN

♈ ARIES ~
Stay up in the air. Your decisions depend on the decisions of others.  However, nobody's finalizing any decisions right now. They're busy coping, seeking new alliances and finding new ways to get ahead.  Other people are trying to force a decision on you. Your own thinking is now under seductive and deceptive influences, too, so maybe it's best to avoid firm commitments anyway. You can depend on luck to help you through the rough spots.  You might experience some pretty bizarre flirtations . . . or flirtations with the bizarre.

♉ TAURUS ~ Think twice. Lots of things going on out there will turn out favorably for Taurus, especially things in distant or faraway places.  Meanwhile, though, people could demand levels of 'cooperation' you aren't prepared to give. Romantic urges or hit and run flirtations could pull you in unconventional directions.  Some relationships could come to an abrupt and surprising end. These days, I think, it's often best to just go your own way anyway. It's a good month to take it one step at a time with frequent pauses for thought.

♊ GEMINI ~ Herding cats. You need to help people forming new support networks to realize unfolding opportunities.  But egos are getting in the way.  Suspicions are easily aroused. People are making unilateral demands. Still others are very defensive.  And it would be hard to underestimate the level of misinformation. Work hard to avoid the appearance of unfairness as you work through this maze. Luck will lend a hand, but, frankly, the planets aren't making your job easy. Your ability to think and speak clearly is your most valuable asset under these circumstances.

♋ CANCER ~ Stealthy support. You are confronted everywhere by people in motion. People are dealing frantically with urgent challenges and unfolding opportunities. These folks dearly need Cancer's insightful, nurturing input to succeed and you want to provide it.  For better or worse, though, you somehow can't participate directly in their efforts and you don't have much leverage.  And even if they weren't all super busy, they are headstrong and both push and touchy.  Your mission is to find new and subtle ways to help others cope in these exciting but turbulent times.

♌ LEO ~ Embrace chaos. People are scrambling to meet urgent challenges and stay on track to profit from emerging opportunities. Things are more than a little chaotic. Outdated and rigid attitudes are blocking progress, however.  There could be trouble. The planets are empowering you to dissolve those rigid and outdated attitudes. They are also empowering you to block those who would simply impose their own will. But there's a catch. It's something Leos will find especially challenging.  To access your powers, you'll need to suppress your own ego and avoid center stage.

♍ VIRGO ~ Trust your instincts. You might feel like the foundation of your existence is shaking badly.  Maybe it is.  But everyone else's foundation is shaking worse.  Also, others don't have the advantage Virgo does.  Like, the car is skidding out of control. Maybe you are pretty dazed and confused. But everyone but you and the driver is in the back seat. At least you're within arm's reach of the steering wheel. Somewhere inside you are very much in touch with what's happening, also. Your efforts, however frantic, will benefit everyone else.

♎ LIBRA ~ Rough and tumble.  Many people are making crucial decisions and forging important new support networks. That's where Libra comes in, right - decisions and relationships?  Well, yes and no. People have to do all this on the fly, amidst clouds of swirling unknowns. They're fighting hard realities with best guesses. These aren't well-reasoned decisions and firm commitments made under controlled circumstances, the kind Librans love most. To be of greatest help, let others do the talking. Your famous diplomatic abilities will serve everyone better than your reasoning and matchmaking abilities now.

♏ SCORPIO ~ Hold your fire. Scorpios have sensitive antennae and they prefer calm and order. Their instinct is to tighten control of a situation before others even suspect a problem. They aren't afraid of a fight, either, if that's what it takes.  So, December won't be easy for Scorpio. You'll need to let others speak out more loudly and act out more aggressively than you would ordinarily.  It's  easier to keep the peace if you know what's bothering people and to find that out you'll need to let people disturb the peace.

♐ SAGITTARIUS ~ Nitty-gritty is good. Fussy details, caution, intense teamwork - these things come hard to free-spirited Sagittarius. But if you find yourself mired in such suffocatingly un-Sagittarian things, please lean into it.  People need to network heavily and discuss things endlessly and in excruciating detail. People need to "drill down" through the same old stuff to fresh ideas and unexplored realities. It's the only way to work through existing challenges and harness emerging possibilities. Rest assured that underneath it all, what they're getting at is exactly the kind of thing Sagittarians live for.

♑ CAPRICORN ~ Tread lightly. You are working from a place of strength, its just that you're facing strong resistance.  And things are moving forward, now, although the obstacles multiply faster than the opportunities.  The key is to take an unconditionally positive, open approach to people and issues that normally annoy the heck out of you.  These issues won't yield to the kind of . . . um . . . power plays that Capricorns sometimes prefer.  People are feeling vulnerable and exposed.  Some tender loving care will work wonders.  A thoughtless word could set negotiations back indefinitely.

♒ AQUARIUS ~ Like magic. Today's big issues are all Aquarian issues. That's true even if a veritable blizzard of pesky, real world issues obscures that fact. And even if everybody is focused obsessively on simple, day-to-day, un-Aquarian matters. People kind of have to be that way right now.  So release your idealistic Aquarian focus for the time being.  Address people's immediate concerns.  Engage others on their terms. Aquarian vibes are so pervasive Aquarians can't help but synergize everybody's efforts. Your intuitively inspired input will help folks find the missing pieces they're looking for.

♓ PISCES ~ Split vision. There are unusually powerful, idealistic forces at work within the Piscean mind now.  Your intuition is closely attuned to the spirit of the times, too.  It's tempting to remain absorbed in your own fascinating thoughts. However, financial matters require that you get out and do something. Those ideas enriching your mind will be surprisingly helpful in meeting the challenges you and everyone else find out there.  It's good to have a rich inner life. But staying grounded is at least as important as nurturing your inner life now.

Astrological Analysis - November 2011 (& 11.11.11) for Everyone

 November 2011 ( & 11.11.11) for Everyone

Life Changing Events (Happy Holidays!)

November 2011 is a month of personal decisions.  It will bring the continuation of now familiar stresses and strains. It will also mark the beginning of an even sharper and more intense confrontation between people with conflicting religious, political and economic views. It is also a time of surprising inner, personal transformations. And, need I add, mounting stress.

Meanwhile, Pluto is
still in Capricorn, still stress-testing global political and economic power structures. Uranus is in Aries stimulating protest, rebellion and outright revolution. Neptune is about to enter Pisces where it will trigger heightened ideological clashes. We are also beginning to feel the effects of the unusually powerful 2012 chart, which promises straightforwardly revolutionary change.

Taken singly, the energy output of each of these long-lasting astrological events would be overwhelming. Combined, their transformative (and disruptive) power is immense.

These high energy levels will also magnify the impact of other, seemingly routine astrological phenomena.

Lifestyle Consequences

Events are constantly revealing flaws in our plans and weaknesses in our support systems, forcing significant changes in our life plans.

We frequently hear that others have experienced life changing events of all kinds. Often not for the better.

We continue to experience significant relationship stresses.  It seems like all relationships are becoming high maintenance.

We are experiencing power struggles at work, at home, and in our social lives.

It is often hard to figure out what is going on in the world immediately around us. Most of us are fighting fatigue. Our thoughts and emotions often churn uncomfortably.  We are feeling an increase in obsessive behavior, nervous tics, hyperactivity and all forms of addictive behavior, major and minor.  There is a constant sense of uncertainty and urgency.  Stress is interfering with our sleep.

We are also experiencing deep upwellings of spiritual energy and insights.  Amidst the unceasing stresses and strains we achieve moments of unusual clarity and the strength to go on. We will discover things about ourselves that we never knew, even as we start turning into a different kind of person, different kinds of people.

11.11.11 and More

People have asked me about the meaning of the date 11.11.11.  When asked about a date, such as this one, I always cast a chart or two.

As it turns out, two of the most important events in November do, in fact, occur around 11.11.11.

Neptune will be stationary/direct on 11.10.11.
Neptune governs the evolution of thought and belief.

Neptune is poised to enter Pisces to begin a new cycle of the Zodiac and a prolonged and sweeping renewal of belief systems, world wide.

It often causes violence, particularly ideological or religious violence as old and new ideas clash.

Chiron will be stationary/direct on 11.10.11 at 11:11pm GMT.

Chiron governs illness, injury and healing, including large scale natural and manmade disasters and violence. It uses these things to destroy the barriers between the personality and the spirit.  Whatever it takes .  . .

Thus, around 11.11.11, we will experience a kind of one-two punch.  Neptune will begin driving our beliefs and ideas into new, more spiritual territory.  Chiron will break down barriers between the personality and the spirit.

It looks like an influence that will simultaneously push human thinking into inspiring new territory and spur violent clashes between adherents of different beliefs. Its potential for turbulence and disruption seem to me especially marked in light of the intense astrological energies now at work.

Continuing Retrogrades, Sort of

Uranus, which governs reform, including revolutionary styles of reform, will remain retrograde until December 10th. Jupiter, which governs economic growth, will remain retrograde until December 25th.

Thought and belief will move forward.  But wealth-building and reform processes will remain stalled.

Frustration with the status quo
will no doubt become more intense, especially as new and tantalizing possibilities develop.

Intense Crosscurrents

Both Uranus and Jupiter are preparing to go stationary/retrograde.  When planets change directions, their energy is more intense, more complex and harder to figure.

While Neptune and Chiron will be direct, the confusing effects of their retrogrades will still be felt.

From early November thru early January, all four planets will be in this strange condition, sending out very mixed, thoroughly disorienting signals.

These often baffling cross-currents will be multiplied and magnified by the intensity of the background energies - Pluto in Capricorn, Uranus in Aries, and Neptune's imminent entrance into Pisces and the approach of 2012.

The planets offer the promise of immense movement.  The overall effect will surely increase global strains significantly.

Taking a Stand

During November, positions will harden.  Determination to bring change – or to prevent it - will increase dramatically.  People will see with increasing clarity and consternation just how high the stakes are, even as the confusion mounts.  We will be obliged to decide were we will stand in the decisive, fateful struggles to come.

Economics, The Coming Debate

The most prominent structure in the November chart is a well-positioned, well-formed, highly energetic, but wholly deceptive grand trine. Generally, a grand trine is a highly desirable, strongly supportive, facilitating aspect. This particular grand trine is a very mixed blessing.

Mars, Jupiter and Pluto are involved in this grand trine.  The involvement of both Jupiter and Pluto make it a wealth-building trine.

Totally Mixed Economic Signals

The meaning of this grand trine isn't what we might expect, or hope it to be.

Jupiter is retrograde. That will impair the grand trine's wealth-building powers and sew ever more economic doubt.  However, Jupiter is also slowing, prior to going stationary/direct.

This will give some the deceptive sense that the global economy is about to surge, despite evidence to the contrary, and vice versa.

Also, Jupiter and Pluto are now entering a difficult part of their wealth-building cycle. They will remain in difficult relationship for several years.

The upshot is an exquisitely tantalizing blend of mixed economic messages, coming at a time of deep economic anxieties and intense need.

Jupiter is also preparing to complete a third and final opposition to Saturn, further retarding economic growth.  The fact that this is the last of three oppositions supports a sense of economic relief, further scrambling the economic signals.

In effect, the grand trine is creating an information vacuum hungry for new ideas about our economic future.

Nature Abhors a Vacuum, Especially Where the Economy is Concerned

Mars in Virgo occupies the third point of the grand trine. We know that Uranus is transiting Aries, which is ruled by Mars.  This turns Mars into a roving Uranian ambassador, spreading revolutionary Uranian energy as it goes.

Mars (heavily charged with Uranian energies) is in close opposition to Chiron and Neptune, both of which are stationary/direct.

This will causes a collision of ideas - of philosophies, religious beliefs and political and ideological thought.

This burst of highly charged new ideas will collide with the massively ambiguous economic messages, bringing its own kind of chaos.  New and old ideas, good and bad, will both struggle to fill the vacuum.
To me, it suggests a perfect storm, or a tsunami, of conflict, uncertainty and confusion.

Everything Turns into Everything, or Way Too Much Information

Perhaps one of the most important outcomes is that we'll lose our ability to think of economic problems in simple terms anymore. Solving economic problems will seem to require solving issues of political and economic justice first. And that will pretty much boggle the global mind.  People will be overwhelmed.

No Going Back

A partial solar eclipse in Sagittarius also makes this a month of decision, sort of.  We will feel compelled to make a firm commitment to a future course of action. However, the issues will grow more numerous and complex as we try to make our commitments.

What happens is largely up to us, but the stars do offer some direction.

The south node is on the cusp of the 10th house near the Part of Fortune. This tells us that the planets want us to avoid decisions based on 10th house issues.

Translation: November's chart works strongly against relying on authority, old, off-the-shelf solutions or solutions based on past successes: no power plays, no appeals to established authority, no grand standing, no pat answers.

We need to turn our backs on established methods and join the quest for a new way forward.

The north node is on the cusp of the 4th house with Venus and Mercury.  The solar eclipse on November 25th also affects the 4th house.

The planets want us to favor 4th house methods. They are strongly in favor of deep thought, soul-searching and intensive discussion. We need to consider issues from the perspective of home and family - down to earth and close to home.

Urgent Issues Fuzzy Thinking, Blurred Ideas, Slowly Evolving Total Commitment

The north and south nodes all straddle the highly sensitive vertical axis of the chart.

Hence, our evolving commitment will be crucially important to every aspect of our lives. By the same token, we will be pushed toward such commitments by just about every facet of our lives.

Because the energies flow through mutable signs, this decision will probably won't be simple or quick.

All of the above astrological bodies are in fuzzy, mutable signs.  Also, Neptune will be churning out vast clouds of confusion.  Everything might seem to call for urgent action.  But issues will be too complex and too unclear for quick, decisive solutions.

We are turning a corner onto a long road. We are looking at global immersion in a complex decision making process.

Because of the eclipse, the commitment will also mark a major turning point and our choices, or our failure to make choices, and how we go about making them will have important consequences.

In Sum

The issues surrounding us will become clouded, cumbersome almost forbiddingly complex.  But we will be compelled to engage them seriously nonetheless and at to least begin making choices.

An eclipse marks a moment of truth which is often not seen as such at the time. This particular eclipse requires that we place a bet amidst confusing and fast-changing circumstances and accept the consequences, even what it is wholly unclear what those consequences will be . . . that we make a moral commitment and a leap of faith.

Post Script: Mid Point Pictures

The two strongest midpoint contacts in the chart offer us valuable pointers, too.

Saturn is exactly conjunct the midpoint of Mercury and Mars.  During November, we need to think things through carefully before speaking to avoid conflict or to avoid turning a delicate situation into an embarrassment or an outright disaster.

The second midpoint is Neptune exactly conjunct the midpoint of the Moon and Chiron. We must fight a tendency to go to extremes as we seek relief or healing.  We need to avoid playing the blame game as we seek out the causes of our difficulties.  We need to search out a path of personal healing and growth that does not impair or impede the progress of others.
